I had the great privilege of preaching at Grace Church in Boston, MA, this past weekend. This is a wonderful community of faith that began as a Bible study led by Sean Sears, the founding pastor of the church. Now, over ten years later, they have seen a great number of their friends and neighbors come into a personal relationship with Jesus through the Bible teaching and outreach of the church. The title of my sermon is “Jesus or Nothing,” in which I consider Paul’s prayer for young believers in Colossians 2:1-4. I contrast the implications of believing in a God that loves us vs. believing that God either doesn’t exist or is unknowable.
