The following video is from the St. Louis artist Thi’sl. This song is “King Without A Crown,” which is about our identity in Christ that keeps us from seeking status in the world. Thi’sl came to faith in Christ when a team from a church in his community was out sharing the gospel. The pastor leading the team met Thi’sl and learned he was a rapper so he introduced him to another team member from the church, FLAME, who shared the gospel with him. I’m thankful for his voice, his platform, and his focus on sharing the gospel through his music.

For anyone interested, I normally take the summer off of blogging at Theolatte to work on other projects. This summer I will still publish the Weekend Worldview Reader every other week when I'm on air with @carmenlaberge to talk about what's going on in the world of worldview.
The allure of being right is so strong that we often highly nuance our views so few others fit in. We're the only ones who really "get it." Everyone else is wrong, no matter how close. Our fraction of our tribe is the only one committed to truth. We need to get over ourselves.
Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work, or watch, or weep this night, and give your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend the sick, Lord Christ; give rest to the weary, bless the dying, soothe the suffering, pity the afflicted, shield the joyous; all for your love’s sake.
