Fishing for Grace

I like to read the Wall Street Journal weekend edition. I don’t often spend much time in their obituary section, but I’m glad I did this past weekend. I was surprised to read the conversion testimony of Ron Linder, who died on November 30, 2020.

You can read the article online, a man who “invented lures, made TV shows with his brother and beat the bottle.” His success was challenged by his alcoholism, which he overcame through his newly found Christian faith. The print edition of WSJ quotes his memoir where Linder recounts being “scooped up by the gentle net of God’s grace” and adding God “does not practice catch and release.”
