I’m a sketching, writing, thinking, coffee drinking, Christian, husband, father, and professor. I teach theology and apologetics at Cedarville University.
Here's my talk from this past weekend on reasons to trust the Bible:
I've built this chapter up to 5,000 words. Now I need to tear it back down to around 3,500. It's going to be messy. And a little painful.
What C.S. Lewis said of a poet should also be true of a preacher (or any Christian), "A poet is not one who asks me to look at him; he is a man who says 'look at that' and points; the more I follow the pointing of his finger the less I can possibly see of him."
Here's my recent sermon "Taking God at His Word"
If I had my druthers, I'd spend all my time creating resources that hep simplify what scholars do to explain Christian belief. I'm more of a translator, standing somewhere between the seminary world & the average church attender, seeking to make scholarship simple & accessible 🤓
